Poniros design for Vatican

The Guiseppe Sciacca Awards is a highly esteemed International institution that honours excellence in the fields of the arts, culture, science and technology.

For the sixth year in a row, Yiorgos and Fotis Poniros have been awarded for their outstanding talent and commitment in jewellery design.

Every year the Poniros brothers are selected out of thousands for their merit as in November of 2016, where they created the ceremonial ring for Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle. Designed in the Cardinal’s honour, the ring was presented at the Giuseppe Sciacca Awards in Rome.

Yiorgos Poniros had the honour of personally presenting the ring to the Cardinal which was handcrafted in 18 carat white gold and set with black onyx and black diamonds, while Fotis Poniros presented the Cardinal with the honorary silver tray.

Most recently at the Giuseppe Sciacca Awards in November of 2017, Yiorgos Poniros designed and presented the ceremonial ring to the Cardinal Raffaele Farina, esteemed librarian and archivist of the Vatican.

Having received international recognition for their exclusive jewellery designs, Yiorgos and Fotis Poniros are proud to be honoured members of the G.Sciacca Foundation and continue to invest in design and innovation in a continuous pursuit towards design excellence.
